The incident took place in the morning in Kosamba taluka of the district when the car, driven at a high speed dashed into a stationed truck from behind, killing all five occupants on the spot, sub-inspector of Kosamba police station N M Parmar said.
"Villagers alerted us about the accident. Due to impact of the strong collision, all of the occupants of car died on the spot. They all belonged to Vadodara and were going to Shirdi," he said.
A police team rushed to the spot after getting the information and relatives of the deceased were informed from the mobile phones recovered from the spot.
Police suspect that the driver might not have been able spot the truck due to dense fog.
"With help of villagers, we have pulled out the bodies from the car. Further investigation in the case is being carried out," Parmar added.
