Five people were killed and seven others injured today when a speeding truck crashed into a vehicle they were travelling, in trans-Yamuna region of the district, police said.
The three-wheeler was carrying daily wage labourers who were returning home after work, said Pankaj Kumar Singh, SHO, Industrial Area police station.
The driver of the truck, who has been arrested, lost control over the wheel while taking a turn and rammed into the vehicle coming from opposite side this morning, Singh said.
People rushed to the spot after hearing a loud noise and pulled the passengers out of the mangled three-wheeler. While five of them died on the spot, seven injured were rushed to a hospital by police, Singh added.
