Five school students drowned in a stream in Palvoncha mandal of Khammam district today, police said.
The students, all of whom were boys aged between 9 and 11 years, had gone to swim in the stream near Keswapuram village this afternoon, but drowned as none knew swimming, they said.
"Bodies of all the victims were recovered by evening and handed over to the family members of the deceased," a senior police officer said.
