Flex banner at sea grabs eyeballs

A flex board kept in mid-sea, announcing celebration of a wedding is grabbing the attention of pilgrims and tourists visiting this island and has also gone viral on the social media.
The flex board has been installed on two country boats off the Pamban coast
It is usually political leaders and film fans who put up flex banners, as also for family functions. This one has drawn the attention of the locals, as well as tourists.
The board had been put up by "Komban Boys" (a group of youths) wishing the couple.
A police official opined that the banner was put up probably to draw the attention of people

There was no need to obtain any permission to install boards mid-sea, but they should not shift pollution from the road to the sea, said K Manivannan, a marine scientist, working in a college.
