A group of angry local people confronted Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan in Sangli district on Friday, complaining of delays in rescue operations.
Mahajan toured the area to take a stock of rescue and relief efforts.
Local news channels showed angry locals complaining that the administration had failed to provide food and water to stranded people, and rescue teams were not reaching them.
Co-operation Minister Subhash Deshmukh, guardian minister of Sangli, also faced people's wrath for delays in providing relief.
A villager was heard saying, "Your administration is no good. You only organise yatras (political tours)."
