Dense fog has affected train services in Rajasthan with at least 12 trains of North-Western Railways running behind schedule, though a respite was registered in cold conditions due to a rise in temperature in the state.
Sealdah-Ajmer train was running about 21 hrs and 10 minutes late, while Hawarah-Sriganganagar was late by nine hours, NWR CPRO Tarun Jain said here.
Delhi-Sriganganagar, Rajendra Nagar-Ajmer, Allahabad- Jaipur, Sultanpur-Ahmedabad, Hawarah-Jodhpur/Bikaner, Delhi Sarai-Udaipur, Rishikesh-Sriganganagar, Gorakhpur-Hissar, New Tansukhia-Lalgarh, and Varansai-Jodhpur trains are running late from about 40 minutes to 6 hr and 50 minutes, the CPRO said.
The trains were delayed due to fog in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, NCR, Punjab and Haryana, he added.
Meanwhile, a state weather official said that mercury rose by one to five degrees Celsius at most places last night due to Western Disturbance.
Hill station Mount Abu recorded a low of 10.4 degrees Celsius, while Sikar on the plains recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees.
Elsewhere in the state, the minimum temperature was recorded between 11 and 17.8 degrees Celsius, including in Jaipur, Ajmer, Tonk, Pilani, Kota, Sawaimadhopur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Phalodi, Churu, Bikaner, and Sriganganagar.
The cold weather conditions are stagnant due to the prevailing Western Disturbance and will change by the weekend, a forecast said.
