The government is organising 'World Food India 2017' on November 3-5 in the national capital, aiming to bring global and domestic food processing companies on one platform.
The event will showcase opportunities for foreign investors in India's food processing industry and familiarise the global industry with India's policy environment.
During her visit, Badal will meet Dutch Minister for Agriculture Martijn van Dam. She will also address a roadshow on World Food India 2017 to be attended by CEO's of leading Dutch companies involved in the food processing sector.
Badal will invite Dutch investment in post-harvest management, capacity expansion, research & development and skill development in India.
The minister is being accompanied by senior officials of the food processing ministry and a business delegation of representatives from the CII and KPMG India.
The food processing industry contributes to approximately 10 per cent of GDP of the Netherlands and 20 per cent of total industrial export.
There are more than 4,500 food processing companies in the Netherlands making it the second largest agri-food exporter in the world, after USA.
