Deputy Ranger Ashok Kumar Dubey was caught red-handed from Forest Department's Range office at Navlakha while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from the carpenter Shakti Singh Gaur, who makes wooden toys, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) of Lokayukta Police, Dineshchandra Patel told PTI.
"Gaur is a small-time carpenter and earns his living by making wooden toys. He complained that Forest Department team had seized a small machine from his residence about eight days back charging him that he had no permission to use machine," he said.
On the carpenter's complaint, the Lokayukta police laid a trap and today caught Dubey while taking the bribe, Patel said.
A case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Dubey and further probe is on.
