Former DMK Minister files ancicipatory bail plea

Former DMK Minister K R Periyakaruppan and six others filed anticipatory bail applications in the Madras High Court bench here today in connection with a criminal case filed against them for allegedly attacking AIADMK workers with deadly weapons during campaign to the assembly polls.
The case was filed in Thirukoshtiyur police station against them for allegedly preventing one M Narasingaperumal from campaigning for the AIADMK candidate Ashok in Tirupathur constituency in Sivaganga district besides attacking and abusing him and AIADMK cadres.
The petitioners submitted that the case had been registered against them due to political enemity.
