Former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley dies

Former Miss America and first Miss Mississippi Mary Ann Mobley has died. She was 75.
Mary, who won the crown of Miss America in 1959 was battling with breast cancer. She passed away on Tuesday morning at her residence in Beverly Hills, California, reported Ace Showbiz.
The Miss America Organisation wrote in their statement, "Our beloved Miss America, Mary Ann Mobley, passed away quietly this morning, surrounded by her loved ones. Mary Ann will always be remembered for her beauty, grace, her wonderful personality and her giving heart that touched so many."
Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Miss America Organisation Sam Haskell said, "When I was a little boy growing up in Mississippi, there were two Mississippi stars who I idolised... One was Elvis Presley and the other was Mississippi's first Miss America Mary Ann Mobley."

Mary was known for movies 'Get Yourself a College Girl' (1964), 'Girl Happy' (1965), and TV series 'Mission: Impossible'.
Mary married actor and TV host Gary Collins in 1967 and they had one daughter, Mary Clancy Collins. Gary passed away in 2012.
