Former MP junior home minister gets six months' imprisonment

A local court today sentenced former Madhya Pradesh junior Home Minister Jagdesh Muvel to six months' imprisonment for manhandling a government official.
Dharampur Additional District Court Judge Suryaprakash Sharma also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on Muvel after finding him guilty of manhandling then janpad panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Bakla, government prosecutor B R Mimrot told PTI.
He said that when Muvel was an MLA from Dharpuri seat in 2008, he called Bakla to his residence and thrashed him.
After conviction, Muvel deposited a Rs 1,000 fine and applied for bail which he was granted.
Muvel was a minister of state for home for six months when Uma Bharti was Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister in December 2003.
