Former panchayat extension officer given RI
Kurmanath Rath, the former panchayat extension officer (PEO) of Majhiguda panchayat in neighbouring Rayagada district had misappropriated rice worth Rs 9,58,950 and government revenue of Rs 32,000 during his posting there between 2005-07.
