Former village head shot dead over personal enmity

A former village head was shot dead by some unidentified miscreants at Bahawdi village in Muzaffarnagar district here today.
Past enmity over gram panchayat election is considered as the primary reason behind Dharmender's (45) murder, Vijay Bhushan, SP Shamli said.
Earlier, five people were also murdered in the village over past enmity.
No arrest has been made so far, the police said.
Meanwhile, the security has been tightened in the village after the incident and extra policemen have been deployed to ease the tensions.
