Former village headman shot dead, 20 days after first attempt

A former headman of Chantha village panchayat was shot dead by unidentified miscreants, the police said here today.
Laxminarayan Sondhia (45) died on the spot after he was shot by unidentified people from behind last evening when he was on his way back to the village, police said.
A case has been registered and his body has been sent to Bhopal for autopsy, the police said.
The incident occurred nearly 20 days after he lodged a police complaint, that an attempt was made to kill him by an unidentified person.
