The body of Sukra Khurami, who had been missing since last evening after he went to the village market, was found near Modiguda village today, Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Akhileswar Singh said.
The body of Sukra, aged around 45 years, was lying in a pool of blood in the forest area on the outskirts of the village with his throat slit.
Though the killing was suspected to have been committed by the Maoists, a clear picture would emerge after the investigation, the SP said adding police officials have rushed to the site.
A search operation has been launched, police said.
