On the directives of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, an inquiry was conducted by additional chief forest conservator Iqbal and project director V K Thakur into alleged serious irregularities in Lalitpur forest division, Forest secretary R K Singh said here.
Report was also sought from chief project director in this regard, he added.
On the basis of the report, the government has suspended forest circle officer Anil Kumar Srivastava, range officer A K Srivastava, forest inspectors Krishna Kumar and Paragi Lal.
It has also been decided to take action against divisional forest officer Lalitpur, the then forest conservator, Jhansi, and the then chief forest conservator, he said.
The state government had received complaints of serious irregularities, arbitrary action and monetary and mental harassment of secretaries of joint forest management committee after which the inquiry was initiated.
