Freight rates down on easy availability of trucks

Freight rates for ten-tonne pay load section for select destinations fell by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today owing to excess position of trucks in the markets.
Transporters said huge position of trucks against tight cargo movements mainly put pressure on freight rates for some destinations.
Delhi to Hyderabad, Guwahati and Vijaywada rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 60,000, Rs 55,000 and Rs 62,000.
Rates to Thiruvnanthapuram, Kochi and Surat also moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 80,000, Rs 75,000 and Rs 28,000.
