Freight rates for select centres up on busy cargo movements

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations were higher by Rs 500 in the local truck transport market today on busy cargo movements against tight availability of trucks.
Transporters said apart from increased cargo movements, tight availability of trucks helped select destinations' freight rates to go up.
Freight rates from Delhi to Surat, Patna and Baroda were quoted higher by Rs 500 each to Rs 27,500, Rs 29,000 and Rs 27,500, respectively.
Following are today's freights per nine-tonne load (in Rs):
Jaipur 18,000 Hyderabad 58,000 Chandigarh 19,000 Vijayawada 60,000 Ludhiana 20,000 Bangalore 65,000 Kanpur 20,500 Chennai 65,000 Indore 21,500 Mysore 67,000 Ahmedabad 23,500 Pondicherry 65,000 Baroda 27,500 Coimbatore 71,000 Patna 29,000 Kochi 74,000 Surat 27,500 Thiruvananthapuram 79,000 Mumbai 29,000 Goa 53,000 Pune 31,000 Gwalior 15,000 Kolkata 33,000 Guwahati 54,000.
