Freight rates move up

Freight rates for the nine-tonne pay load section improved by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following shortage of trucks.

Transporters said besides increased cargo movements, less availability of trucks pushed up some freight rates.

Delhi to Bengaluru, Chennai and Mysore freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 61,000, Rs 63,000 and Rs 66,000.

Rates to Coimbatore, Kochi and Goa also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 69,000, Rs 72,000 and Rs 59,000.
