The funds alloted to civic bodies in various districts will be mainly used for improving drainage system, roads and electricity, Rupani said, adding, last year the fund was Rs 5,400 crore.
Rupani was presiding over a review meeting of 50 municipalities officials of Saurashtra and Kutch here.
"Nearly 46 per cent people of state's total population live in urban areas, which is likely to reach at 60 per cent by end of 2030, and keeping this in mind the state government is paying special attention for the urban development," he said.
