"Gadkari had said that Swami Vivekananda and Dawood Ibrahim had high IQs, but one used it for nation building and the other for the crime. There is nothing wrong or objectionable in it..In fact Gadkari's statement was twisted by the Congress leaders," he told reporters here.

Gadkari's speech at an award event in Bhopal on Sunday appeared to compare the IQ of Swami Vivekananda and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, evoking sharp criticism from Congress and others.

On the allegations of dubious fundings of Gadkari's company, he claimed "Congress has in the past made such allegations against all the prominent opposition leaders including Mayawati, Mulayam Singh Yadav and even against my family too, but the people are well aware of the facts".

Criticising UPA and the Haryana governments, he alleged that "Congress has become the symbol of corruption and a number of its leaders are involved in various scams".

Chautala said if the INLD comes to power in Haryana after the next assembly polls, they would conduct a thorough probe "in all the land scams of Haryana including the land purchased by (Congress President) Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra".

Replying to a question, the INLD chief said the party would contest in the forthcoming municipal elections on its party symbol.
