During the first 12 hours roughly 1.5 million file-sharers downloaded a pirated copy of the final episode 'The Children', a number that is likely to increase to over 7.5 million during the days to come, according to website Torrentfreak.Com which moniters online piracy.
The fourth season of the HBO show, based on JRR Martin's fantasy novels, has been the most viewed season so far both through the official channels as well as through piracy.
Almost 7.1 million people tuned in to watch the final on Sunday officially while the episode resulted in the largest BitTorrent swarm ever, which means for the first time so many people gathered to share a single file on the Internet.
