Senior Superintendent of Police Yashaswi Yadav today said that the network of the gang was spread in eastern UP. The gang members were in contact with agents in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangaluru, and Gulf countries, he said.
The gang allegedly used to trick people into immigration to foreign countries on the basis of tourist visas, while charging a fee for work visa from them.
The immigration aspirants seeking their services were allegedly told that they were being sent on work visa. On reaching their destinations, they used to be informed by migration authorities later, that they had landed on tourist visa instead of work visa.
He said that 76 passports, 204 copies of passport, 68 fake medical certificates and 29 fake visas were seized from their possession. All the accused have been arrested and police has filed a case in this connection.
