Former chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot today criticised the state government over law and order situation, saying it has deteriorated badly in the BJP rule.
He said crime incidents including rape cases were on the rise and the government was doing nothing but praising the police.
"A Japanese woman was raped while another woman was murdered for anklets. Such incidents reflect the status of the rule of law in the state. The state never witnessed such a bad situation," Gehlot told reporters at PCC office here.
"Home Minister of the state just praise and boost morale of police and surprisingly takes no action on criminal incidents. Only chief minister can tell that why she has given such a free hand to him," he commented.
Gehlot alleged that the Raje government was doing nothing to provide relief to people and on the contrary was taking decision to deprive people of advantage of various schemes, programmes and decisions which were taken by his former government.
"My government had given subsidy of Rs 25 on domestic cylinders to provide relief from inflation but this government has withdrawn it," he claimed.
He said BJP came to power in Centre and the state on the issue of inflation but when crude oil prices in international market came down, the governments did not pass on actual benefits to people.
