Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Saturday lashed out at BJP leaders from the state for making allegations and protesting while the state was faced with floods.
He asked them to go to the Centre and get funds for flood relief instead, adding that Neemuch, Bhind and Mandsaur were the worst-affected.
"They should stage a sit-in at Delhi for release of funds for flood relief instead of indulging in tongue wagging against my government," Nath said at a function to dedicate a super speciality block of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College Hospital here.
He also took a swipe at the previous BJP government in the state and said "camera aur bade vigyapan ki rajniti" (attention-seeking politics) will not secure the future of youth without industrial growth or investments.
He said advertisements placed by the previous Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had failed to attract investments.
Chouhan, who took part in a protest for flood-hit people in Mandsaur, said, "Kamal Nath is head of an elected government. He should go to Delhi himself and ask for help. Sitting here and abusing me will not do. Have I ever told the opposition to get help from Delhi when I was chief minister".
Claiming that 100 per cent crops had been destroyed in flood-affected areas, Chouhan said, "Despite a state budget of Rs 2.32 lakh crores, Kamal Nath is claiming there is no money. The state government should allocate Rs 20,000 crore to flood affected areas for relief.
