The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to keep a strict vigil through air in Ghaziabad and Noida in the wake of Republic Day celebrations and has provided the police department a helicopter for the purpose, police said today.
The chopper has been provided for a period of 12 days, starting from January 20 to January 31, SSP Dharamendra Yadav said.
Air surveillance will mainly target the movement of VVIPs, special areas and buildings like ordnance factory, gas plant, malls, educational institutes, cinema halls, and other sensitive areas, the SSP said.
Police of both the districts will also carry out mock anti-terror drills, he said.
