Calling on the Chief Minister here, Gilua said opening of the mines would not only provide employment to thousands of villagers, but would prevent migration, an official release said here.
He said the villagers had become unemployed after the closure of mines at villages like Dehurisai, Pachayasai, Mundasai, Lakhansai, Todetopa, Dibrusai, Nathosai, Salikuti, Jarkasai, Khas Moudi, Dondeya Sai and Birasai.
He drew the attention of Das and said "Tata Steel had assured to drop raw materials at Bokaro Siding and Line 5, by which the raw materials could be transported from there, giving employment to thousands of local people," the release said.
The Chief Minister said the state would initiate efforts as per the Supreme Court directive on the closed mines, the release added.
