An alert 10-year-old girl saved the life of her father who tried to commit suicide by hanging himself, police said.
As soon as Jennifer heard the sound of falling of a chair in her house last evening, she rushed inside and found his father Lawrence (42), an electrician, hanging.
She immediately raised an alarm following which the neighbours rushed to the spot and brought the man down.
They rushed him to a hospital where he was admitted in the ICU.
A doctor treating Lawrence said though unconscious, he was out of danger and improving.
Police have begun a probe to find out the cause behind Lawrence's attempt to end his life.
