In an election rally, senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said it was time for Delhiites to decide with which party they want to stand with them.
"You gave the highest number of seats to BJP last time, thus making it evident that you wanted BJP to rule the city. We did not get a clear majority, but we ensured that the second largest party then (AAP) run a stable government," he said.
"Delhi has seen elections twice in year... They should have taken place after a gap of 5 years. We understand the huge expenditure incurred by the government in such elections. It is the hard earned money of the people.
"Now it is your time to decide with which party you want to stand... You have to do justice," he said addressing a rally in Kirari area of North West Delhi.
He also accused the previous UPA dispensation of not passing on benefits of drop in international crude oil prices.
"Petrol and diesel prices have been cut 11 times in the past eight months. The opposition criticised us by saying that the cut in oil prices in the international market helped us to slash petrol, diesel prices.
"But these parties did not reduced the fuel prices in the domestic market during their rule even when the international market cut them," he said.
"You can see development in BJP ruled states. Though having the same government at the Center and states help in better coordination, we have not discriminated against those states not ruled by us.
"We will provide health insurance to all the citizens of Delhi. We have taken note of the city's water crisis.
He also accused the Sheila Dikshit dispensation of not doing anything to provide relief to residents of unauthorised colonies in Delhi.
