Goa govt amends DDSSY, makes written feedback mandatory

The BJP-led Goa government has amended its flagship medical insurance policy which now makes it mandatory for beneficiaries getting treated at private empanelled hospitals to give their written feedback.
The 'Deen Dayal Swastha Seva Yojana' (DDSSY) was launched by the BJP government led by then chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
The scheme, being implemented by United India Insurance Company, provides an insurance cover for Goans in medical treatment and certain procedures.
The information about amended scheme, which was circulated to empanelled private hospitals stated that "written feedback from the beneficiary should be taken on discharge, compulsorily".
"Beneficiary should give a signed statement that he has not been charged additionally and only for the room charges, if he has consented for upgradation at the time of admission," as per the letter signed by Dr Yogesh Potdar, Empanelment Consultant, DDSSY, Goa.

The statement should be countersigned by official signatory of the hospital. For claims processing, the declaration and the consent from is made mandatory," it said.
Under this scheme, medical treatment and hospital room charges of beneficiaries are covered.
The beneficiaries are allowed to upgrade the room, provided they pay the differential amount to the concerned hospital.
