"The state tourism department has finalised various infrastructure projects worth Rs 100 crore on the beaches, tenders for which will be invited in April," Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairman Nilesh Cabral told PTI.
Goa has some of the world's most scenic beaches on its 105 km-long coastline which attract lakhs of tourists annually.
"Tourists were complaining about facilities on the beaches. Once these works are complete, the beaches will be equipped with infrastructure to provide better experience to tourists," he said.
Cabral said the work will be done in three phases. In the first phase, three beaches are identified followed by eight in second and third phase respectively.
Under the same programme, Goa government has also decided to construct public toilets along the roads in the state.
