"Nathuram Godse was a thinker, philosopher, learned writer and a great patriot. He was, he is and he will remain so," the outfit's national vice president Ashok Kumar Sharma said in a release here.
Sharma said, he had to issue the statement as there is a debate (JNU row) going on in the media these days under a "conspiracy" and the Mahasabha is being termed as an extremist Hindu nationalist organisation.
Sharma was referring to the raging JNU row after the arrest of the university's Students' Union president Kanhaiya Kumar on the charges of sedition.
