Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today asked the Centre to make public the Naga peace deal, signed on August 3, 2015, as the clauses still "remain under wraps."

"The accord signed between the Government of India and Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) on August 3, 2015 is a mystery as the clauses of the accord are still kept under wraps," Gogoi said in a statement here.

The Naga peace deal was "welcomed by us, but it is quite astonishing why the clauses of the deal are kept in the dark. To keep such an important document under wraps for long raises doubt about its veracity," he said.

Assam appreciates the Naga peace deal and welcomes peace in Nagaland, but "will oppose tooth and nail any move that affects our state's interests," Gogoi said.

He also asked the Centre to make the clauses of the Naga peace deal public and accord sanctity of the geographical boundary of each state under the framework of the Constitution.
