A BJP delegation met Governor P B Acharya at Raj Bhavan here and submitted a memorandum to him urging him to look into the grievances and take appropriate measures in the interest of the people.
Gogoi had failed to provide basic needs to the people of the state asserted, the memorandum claimed and added, "There is no administration worth the name and rampant corruption crippled the state machinery".
The memorandum said Gogoi, who also holds charge of the home department, has totally lost control over it and as a result the crime rate is increasing "alarmingly" pushing the state to the top of the list in the country in respect to it with 54.2 per cent against the national average of 22.7 per cent.
The government has lost its moral right to continue in power for its miserable failure to meet the people's expectations despite being in power for 15 years, it said.
Referring to floods and erosion, it said the two were common phenomena in the state but due to lack of advanced timely planning the affected people are not given relief at proper time despite sufficient fund at the government's disposal.
The BJP memorandum said road communication has deteriorated in the state with hardly any roads in villages and condition of roads in urban areas "extremely" poor.
"Due to existence of a fixed commission raj system, huge funds received under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana have been grossly misused," the party alleged.
