"After the pressure created by Rahul Gandhi's visit the Chief Minister ordered a CBI probe into the incident," Haryana PCC president Ashok Tanwar said.
Tanwar, along with Rahul, today met the distraught family members in Sanped village.
"Sanped was not an isolated case as there have been numerous incidents of crimes, including against Dalits. Rapes, murders, kidnapping for ransom and other serious crimes have become the order of the day ever since the BJP government took over reins in Haryana a year back," Tanwar said.
The Congress leader claimed that the Dalit family told him that they were under pressure by the state government to cremate the bodies of the toddlers.
"When we met the family they claimed there was pressure from the government on them to conduct the last rites of the toddlers. The family was demanding immediate arrest of all the culprits and action against the police officials who failed to protect them," he said.
On the postponement of Khattar's visit to the village, Tanwar said, "It is clear that the government cannot face the anger of the public."
"Moreover, the Khattar government is busy in its celebrations to mark the completion of one year in office. This government is not sensitive and alive to the problems faced by its people, who are fed up with the BJP regime in just one year of its rule," Tanwar alleged.
Meanwhile, commenting on Khattar government's blitzkrieg to celebrate the completion of one year in office of the BJP Government in the state on October 26, Kiran Choudhry, Leader of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party, asked the Chief Minister, "What is there to celebrate?"
"Instead, the Khattar Government should mourn the death of the farmers, give the money earmarked for publicity to their bereaved families, roll back completely the power tariff hike, rein in the prices by cracking the whip on hoarders, and fulfill the promises made to the people in the manifesto which seems to have been quietly shoved under the carpet," Choudhry demanded.
The Congress is preparing a "question paper" for the Haryana Government on its performance in the last one year and would make it public any day, she added.
