Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday said the state government has strived to make the lives of people easier and comfortable in the last five years.
"The people no longer have to make rounds of government offices as maximum citizen-centric services have been made online. We have strived and tried to make their life easier and comfortable.
"Apart from this, every household has an LPG gas connection and arrangements have been made to provide 24 hours power supply to over 4,100 villages and in near future, round-the-clock power supply would be ensured in the remaining villages," Khattar said while addressing people in the Kharkhoda Assembly constituency here during his ongoing 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra'.
The Yatra was flagged off by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh from Kalka on August 18, ahead of the Haryana Assembly polls in October.
The ruling BJP has set a target of 'Mission 75' plus seats in the 90-member House, where it currently has 48 legislators.
Khattar appealed to people to adopt micro irrigation, and said 80 per cent subsidy is being provided by the state government on sprinkler and drip irrigation.
Later, addressing another gathering in Hasangarh village in Garhi Sampla Kiloi assembly segment in Rohtak, which is the home constituency of former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Khattar said Sampla has been given the status of sub-division.
He said development work to the tune of crores of rupees has been carried out in the entire assembly constituency.
Road network was laid in this area and the incomplete work of the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway has been completed and industrial development would be ensured on its both sides which would generate employment opportunities to the people, Khattar said.
The chief minister said due to its proximity to Delhi, there is a huge potential for peri-urban agriculture in segments like Sampla.
Farmers should move towards cultivation of fruits, flowers and vegetables to tap the potential, he said.
Later, while addressing another public gathering in Beri, he said the state government has given jobs on merit and in a transparent manner.
