Advocate General K P Dandapani questioned the maintablity of petitions in this regard by Shariffa and Premachandran Nair.
Justice Harun-Al Rasheed asked "what is the interest of the government in a private complaint"?
The government also claimed effective steps have been taken by the DGP and there is no need for another investigation.
The hearing in the case has been adjourned to October 23.
Justice Rashid had on October 1 asked the government whether senior police officers were afraid of Salim Raj, a constable.
The court said "we have never seen a DGP forward a complaint to the Chief Minsiter's office. The DGP and all police officers are afraid of this constable".
The two complainants had approached the High Court seeking an investigation by a special team or CBI into two land deals in which Salim Raj is allegedly involved.
