As of now, altogether 20-odd publications are brought out by these three ministries as in-house journals.
"The government plans to make these magazines and journals available in the market for general public reading," a source said.
The move comes following instructions from the Prime Ministers' Office (PMO) that the magazines should be taken to the masses with more and better content, according to the source.
The content of the magazines would be enriched and highlight the various works and achievements of the ministries, the source said.
Besides, the Tourism Ministry is also contemplating bringing out a magazine on its flagship tourism awareness campaign 'Incredible India' in both English and Hindi languages to highlight various tourist destinations across the country.
Airports Authority of India's 'Airport', Air India's 'Yatra' and Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti's 'Antim Jan' are among the magazines that would be made available in the market, according to the source.
While AAI and Air India come under Civil Aviation Ministry, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti are under the administrative control of Culture Ministry.
