Govt working on policy to provide affordable housing: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said his government was actively working on a policy to provide affordable housing facility to the people in the state and to ensure planned development in order to check the mushrooming of unauthorised colonies.
"We are for the welfare of people thus there is need to bring fundamental changes in the system so as to facilitate the masses. All policies should be framed keeping in view the people's interest," Khattar said.
Chief Minister approved a project estimates amounting to Rs 237.07 crore for various development works to be executed in different Urban Estates of the State.
A new policy for allotment of land to institutional, charitable and other societies would be framed soon, he added.
While presiding over a meeting of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), the Chief Minister, who is also the Chairman of HUDA, directed officers to maintain quality standards while executing all the construction works.
HUDA has implemented the Property and Plot Management System under which about three lakh allottees in Urban Estates of the State have been provided unique ID and password to enable them check their property status online, the release said.
With BJP government yesterday completing six months of being in office in Haryana, Khattar said that the USP of the last six months tenure of his government has been to provide hassle free services to the people by using Information Technology.
He said that land for setting up of institutional sites in high potential zones should be given through auction and rest of the area the same should be allotted as per existing policy on subsidized rates.
Besides this, the adequate infrastructure support should also be provided for remote areas, he added.
