Arvind Joshi and his wife Tinoo Joshi were dismissed from service last year and are wanted in the cases but only Tinoo, who arrived on a wheelchair, surrendered before the Additional District and Sessions Judge D P Mishra and applied for regular bail.
The Supreme Court had on December 18 given three-week time to Tinoo, asking her to apply for regular bail in the court by January 13.
Her counsel Pratul Shandilya prayed to the court that his client should be given regular bail as she has to undergo hysterectomy procedure (removal of uterus) at Government Medical College in Udaipur.
He said his client was serious and was suffering from a heart ailment as well.
Prosecuting agency, the anti-corruption watch dog, Lokayukta police is scheduled to put forth its submission in the court today before the Judge takes the final call on Tinoo's bail application.
Tinoo and Arvind were absconding since March 1 last year when the Lokayukta police charge sheeted them. Since then, the court has issued around half a dozen arrest warrants against them. Arvind is still on the run.
After the Income Tax raids, Lokayukta police raided their residence on December 10, 2010 and recovered Rs 7 lakh cash and other documents relating to their ill-gotten money.
Lokayukta police has pegged the accounted wealth of Joshis' at Rs 41.87 crore.
