"We have drawn up a plan to constitute five inter-state inquiry groups to probe crimes committed by miscreants in trains going from Madhya Pradesh to Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi," Special Director General of Police (DGP) Rail Maithilisharan Gupt said here.
He said that two of these teams would be given the task of probing crimes on the Nagpur-Bhusaval Maharashtra route while two other teams would take care of the Delhi-Allahabad route and the last group would look into the Gujarat-Rajasthan route.
He also informed that with the help of the mobile phone application called 'GRP Helpline' so far, 5,000 railway passengers filed complaints and gave suggestions for further improvement in the system.
The application is being upgraded on the basis of inputs provided by railway travellers, he said.
