Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (GSPL) today reported 5.2 per cent drop in June quarter net profit after rise in interest outgo on loans negated the increase in revenue.

Net profit in April-June at Rs 144.45 crore was lower than Rs 152.51 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Revenue from operations soared 32 per cent to Rs 391.24 crore.

But interest and financial charges jumped from Rs 10.57 crore to Rs 57.93 crore in the quarter.
