Guar gum prices on Thursday fell 0.77 per cent to Rs 5,130 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for March delivery fell by Rs 40, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 5,130 per five quintal in 215 lots.

Guar gum for April delivery eased by Rs 101, or 1.92 per cent, to Rs 5,170 per five quintal in 44,080 lots.

Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and increased supplies from growing regions mainly exerted pressure on guar gum prices.
