Guargum futures remain lower

Guargum prices were down by Rs 30 to Rs 5,250 per quintal in future trading today after participants cut down their bets amid a weak trend at the spot markets on muted demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum for delivery in June month traded lower by Rs 30, or 0.57 per cent to Rs 5,250 per quintal, open interest were seen of 21,901 lots.
Similarly, guargum for delivery in July month enquired lower by Rs 20, or 0.37 per cent to Rs 5,330 per quintal, with business turnover of 23,650 open lots.
Marketmen attributed fall in guargum prices to offloading of positions by participants, triggered by a weak trend at the spot markets on sluggish demand.
