Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has hinted at extending plot usage deadline of GIDC estates located in four zones of Gujarat.
The government is taking a positive approach on extending the deadline for usage of plots in GIDC estates, Patel said during a group meeting with industrial associations from Vadodara, Bharuch, Dahod, Panchmahals, Anand and Kheda districts of central Gujarat via video conferencing yesterday.
She also said that the exit policy on solving the issues related to non-used plots is under consideration.
Patel had personally heard and discussed the issues pertaining to industrial estates of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) in four zones.
Before leaving for China during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit, Patel had told officials to make a list of issues GIDC units are facing. She had asked them to resolve the local issues at their level, and also conveyed that government-level issues would be resolved on her return from China.
During the meeting yesterday, the CM asked government officials to make GIDC online.
"This is an era of technology. GIDC should go online. Sitting in Gandhinagar, I should be able to know that how many plots are vacant in particular GIDC and which GIDC needs what from the government," Patel said.
"My government has adopted a positive approach on redressing the issues and problems of all the GIDC estates of four zones in the state," she said.
GIDC is facing many issues and to resolve them, she asked the senior officials to organise an open house every three month.
The state government has adopted an industry-friendly approach to solve their small problems at local level.
Patel instructed to have better coordination between local administration and GIDC while allowing construction in industrial estate plots which come within the territorial area of the corporation.
She also suggested to recruit temporary staff to address the problems of GIDC and large estates such as Ankleshwar, Vapi, Naroda and Vatva.
Patel stressed on mutual cooperation for environment protection in industrial estates and added that waste management companies should provide affordable services to the industrial groups.
She also asked GIDC officials to work out a policy on service operating protocol (SOP).
Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Arvind Agrawal, GIDC Managing Director Manoj Agrawal and other senior officials were present during the meeting.
