"Goyal visited Panjtarni halting station this morning to take stock of the arrangements made for pilgrims of Amarnath yatra," officials said here.
The Home Secretary was briefed by officials of civil administration and security forces about measures taken to ensure a smooth and peaceful pilgrimage.
"He (Goyal) was briefed about access control measures and baggage scanners installed at various points along the yatra route," they said.
The Home Secretary arrived on a two-day visit to Kashmir yesterday to review security with a focus on the arrangements made for the 59-day annual yatra to the cave shrine.
