This was decided in the Gujarat BJP Parliamentary Board meeting that began at Adalaj on the city outskirts today.
"The Board will finalise names of candidates in the next five days and their names will be declared after Diwali," BJP spokesperson I K Jadeja said.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi and other state leaders attended the meeting presided over by state unit BJP president R C Faldu.
"Our state parliamentary board today met to analyse the reports of the observers who had gone to different districts to listen to contenders who wish to fight the elections," another party spokesperson Jagdish Bhavsar said.
According to BJP sources, on an average more than a dozen contenders for one ticket.
