Gujarat BJP appoints new office-bearers

Gujarat BJP today announced the induction of some new office-bearers into the party ahead of the local body elections to be held later this year as well as for the supervision of Jan-sampark Abhiyan under their ongoing membership enrolment drive.
Gujarat BJP president R C Faldu today appointed Member of Parliament from Dahod Jasvantsinh Bhabhor as the state BJP's vice-president, a party release said.
In addition, Rajya Sabha MP Mansukh Mandavia, senior leader from Patan K C Patel and former Vadodara mayor Shabdsharan Brahmbhatt has been appointed as the General Secretaries in state body.
Lok Sabha MP from Junagadh Rajesh Chudasama has been appointed as the state BJP secretary while Navsari MLA Piyush Desai has been appointed as the party in-charge of Tapi district.

The local body elections are likely to be held in October.
According to Faldu, these appointments were needed as several existing office-bearers are occupied with other important assignments.
For the Jan-sampark Abhiyan, where newly registered members of BJP will be contacted personally by the party, Faldu has appointed Surat Mayor Niranjan Zanzmera as the in-charge of south zone, Amit Thaker as the central zone in-charge, Jaysinh Chauhan for north zone and MP Rajesh Chudasama as the in-charge of Saurashtra zone.
