Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Thursday flagged off the second phase of 'Ekta Rath Yatra' wherein chariots carrying miniature statues of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel would travel through parts of the state to make people aware about the late leader's contribution.
In the first phase, 59 Ekta Raths (Unity Chariots) covered 171 talukas between October 20 and 29.
The first phase had been organised ahead of unveiling of the Statue of Unity of the country's first home minister on October 31.
On Thursday, Rupani launched the second phase of Ekta Rath Yatra by flagging off a chariot from Aslali area here, an official release said.
