A presentation on the proposed policy was made to state Chief Minister Anandiben Patel yesterday, Gujarat Tourism Minister Saurabh Patel told PTI.
The government is likely to announce its new tourism policy within next seven to ten days, he said.
The proposed policy focuses on developing eco-tourism destinations besides promotion of wildlife tourism, the minister said.
The existing tourism policy of the state was announced in 2009.
"Through the new policy, the government will try to develop tourist destinations. We want to boost eco-tourism as well as wildlife tourism through it," Patel added.
"The government is also planning to develop home stay facilities for tourists to give them a chance to experience daily life in Gujarat," Patel said.
